As for the #55 jersey displayed with the NCAA trophy at Magness Arena, according to the athletic department, "there is no significance to the jersey except for it is one that the a student-athlete had in Philadelphia for the championship. It features the patch from Championship Weekend and that is what we were trying to highlight." The department wanted to have the display up for Chancellor Chopp's inauguration.

As a bit of additional background from the athletic department: Teams do not necessarily get new home and road uniforms every year so Berg's number 14 jersey may be assigned to another student-athlete this year or in the future.

So, no mystery and no mystery to solve.
