Princeton 4 - Denver 1

Someone must of forgotten to explain to Princeton how these Holiday Tournaments work. The first round games are just a mere formality where the host team skates around, makes a few snappy passes and scores a few fancy goals to build the gate for the Saturday night Championship game. If the cupcake wants to play a good game they are obliged to do so in the "Consolation Game" in front of a handful of fans.

The dilemma for Denver hockey fans is what to do on Saturday. Show up at the Third Place game or watch the "Championship" game in the evening?

The good news for the Pioneer hockey team is that they have cleared up some precious time on what is sure to be a busy New Years Eve social schedule.

Classic, just classic DU gets beat by the cupcake team they invite. Carle must be trying to get more Hobey votes like Sterling hell of a cross check on the Princeton goalie. Great sportsmenship, Im sure the voters will take that into consideration. Leroux has a great record also something like 13 and 55. Now you can be like CC and collect 3rd place trophies. That is if you can get past the mighty Bulldogs of Ferris State.

WOW, the mighty Bulldogs beat the Pioneers. A school with no hockey budget middle of the road CCHA team beats the two time defending champs. This may be worse than in 97 when CC's third string goalie beat DU. Gwoz did say Danny King has a shot for all tournament team door opener at least some good news for DU.

Does DU get a trophy for fourth place?

It will only be a matter of time before the bandwagon DU fans (which is about 75% of them) will be jumping off. DU will be fortunate to finish in the top 5 of the WCHA.

DU fans will be DU fans no matter what. We all fully realize that we played like crap this weekend, and we all also know that we can bounce back. DU will finish 2nd or 3rd in the WCHA.

DG --If you ever put up a "cupcake" image like that again make sure I remind you what happened at the 2005 Denver Cup ....gosh awful , ...and the golden jerseys should not be worn by players who can't play like a team ..... look up "What does IT mean to Hold The Rope ???" it means "team first -self second". Let's GO NOW DU hockey ....play like the team you can be !!! We know you all have the talent , just show up and use that talent.
