America's Dairyland - A funny thing happened up in Madtown this weekend, DU got its NCAA playoff hopes off life support and played like National Champions. Tonight it was a dramatic 4-2 victory of the #1 ranked Wisconsin Badgers.

Geoff Paukovich, who went off to "Boot Camp" with Team USA, has come back a new man and tallied his second game winning goal in two games. Ryan Dingle, who was serving a one game penalty for "Boarding" on Friday scored two goals and everyone's All American Gabe Gauthier chipped in with one more. Peter Mannino did his best Glenn Fisher impersonation and played a magnificent game in goal. Finally Hobey Baker Award candidate Matt Carle added three assists for DU, who scored three power-play goals in the win.

"We had a very good weekend," head coach George Gwozdecky said. "Our goaltending was outstanding and it was nice to have Ryan Dingle back in the lineup. The game started the way Wisconsin wanted, but we persevered with our great character."

Next up for the Pioneers is Alaska-Anchorage. Desperate times call for desperate measures so DU is sending two of its best fans up to Last Frontier to support the team.
