(left) Good luck to Steven Cook who will take his law school enterance exam this weekend
Denver, which opens a two- game series tonight at Michigan Tech, left Thursday without senior co-captain J.D. Corbin. The forward from Littleton, who suffered severe leg and ankle injuries in practice Oct. 16, will be saved for the final four regular-season games.
"He just wasn't able to get through a full practice this week," said DU coach George Gwozdecky, whose team is off next weekend. "He's participating in more and more drills, but he's not quite ready from a confidence standpoint."
Notes: DU freshman defenseman Cody Brookwell (ankle) will return to the lineup after missing four games. ... Pioneers goalie Peter Mannino, who leads the WCHA in goals-against average (1.83) and save percentage (.935) will start tonight. ... DU senior wing Steven Cook missed the trip to take a law-school entrance exam.
