CC's Last National Championship Team To Be Honored
The Boys Of "Fifty-Seven" Return For Curtain Call

The last Colorado College hockey team worth a crap will be honored Saturday night at World Arena in Colorado Springs. Past glories will be celebrated when a dozen members of the 1956-57 Colorado College team will be on hand. Fifty years ago, the Tigers beat Michigan 13-6 in the NCAA title game, played at Broadmoor World Arena.

There won't be a dry eye in the house as Colorado College will hoist up a tattered 50 year old banner and play hit songs from the 1957 movie "Bridge Over The River Kwai," which won the Academy Award that year.

As they wheel the former champions out on the ice on stretchers, wheelchairs and pushing oxygen tanks, the CC upperclassmen will probably shuffle their skates and think about blowing the 2005 Frozen Four game against DU.
