Colorado College right wing James Brannigan confirmed today that he has parted ways with the program.
Reached by phone in his home of Brooklyn, N.Y., Brannigan said he plans to pursue an East Coast Hockey League contract this fall but has not secured an agent.

.
Brannigan, 22, said his departure was not prompted by academic troubles. Brannigan said he has completed course work through his junior year but does not plan to finish his history degree at CC (Good move on his part. A history degree from CC will only get you a fry cooks gig at IHOP).
“It was hockey-based,” he said.
“It just wasn’t working out as planned.”
Brannigan, who appeared in 30 games and had four assists, met with coach Scott Owens last month and said he left on good terms.
The Tigers will not lose any right wings to graduation and will add recruits Nick Dineen and Steve Schultz this fall. Owens could not be reached for comment.

Shoulda finished out his degree.
With just 4 college points last year, I don't think his pro career looks terribly promising...
Who is this kid listening to?
He was probably on a partial scholarship and CC is a pretty expensive to sit on the bench.
To say that this boy's pro career doesn't look very promsing is pretty obvious. Wow--I'm going to leave CC to establish a career in the ECHL. This bird must be either totally brain dead or just a typical CC wunderkid.
