After all the people talkin' smack saying DU's recruiting was going down the tubes, here's a bluechipper for ya.

Nice to finally beat out BC for a top end player. After losing Kolanos, Bradford, Spina, etc...

Good news.......This kid sounds like the real deal. Is Canada Junior A (i.e. BCJHL, AJHL, etc) comparable to the USHL in terms of competition/talent? Is one league better than the other?

The short answer is "yes."

Canadian Junior A Leagues are comparable to the USHL. In fact the USHL was designed to mimic the Canadian leagues when it was founded.

Obviously there's some good natured debate between proponents of either country, but you can assume that they are fairly similiar and that the top players from each league will fare pretty well in NCAA hockey.

I've heard that the BCHL is slightly better than the AJHL, but when they play each other annually for the Doyle Cup, the home team invariably prevails.

For more info look up BCHL, AJHL, USHL & Doyle Cup on Wikipedia.
