DU recruit John Lee, who will arrive at DU next season, was selected yesterday to the 21-player roster for the 2007 U.S. Junior Select Team. The squad will compete at the 2007 World Junior A Challenge from Nov. 5-11 in Trail and Nelson, B. C.
John Lee is currently playing for the Waterloo Black Hawks in the USHL.
P.K. O’Handley will serve as the head coach of the U.S. Junior Select Team, while Regg Simon has been tabbed as assistant coach.
“We have a great blend of skill and size and should be a fun team to watch,” said O’Handley. “We’ll be going against some great competition and our expectations are high.”
The U.S. Junior Select Team will open competition at the World Junior A Challenge on Tuesday, Nov. 6, when it takes on Belarus.
NOTES: This is Team USA’s first appearance in the two-year-old World Junior A Challenge … The 2007 World Junior A Challenge will include teams from Belarus, Germany, Russia, the United States and two teams from Canada (East and West).
