I confirmed that U.S. under-17 defenseman William Wrenn has committed to Denver for the 2009 class, joining three others that will play next season in junior-A or the USNDT before joining the Pios.
I also learned forward Nate Dewhurst, who plays for Des Moines of the USHL, is tabbed to join DU NEXT FALL, not in 2009.
I can’t disclose my sources at this time, but trust me, they’re rock solid.
Here’s how the next two full-scholarship classes are shaping up:
2008
F Nate Dewhurst (Des Moines, USHL)
F Joe Colborne (Camrose, AJHL)
D John Lee (Waterloo, USHL) (SIGNED)
2009
D William Wrenn (U.S. under-17)
D Matt Donovan (Cedar Rapids, USHL)
D Paul Phillips (Cedar Rapids, USHL)
G Adam Murray (U.S. under-17)
Added today: F Drew Shore (U.S. Under-17)
He did not include forward Drew Shore, also from the U.S. Under-17 team, who made a verbal commitment earlier this week for 2009.
Great stuff by Mike in finding this out.
