The team you never heard of is rolling into Denver this weekend. This week they're calling themselves Minnesota State, but faster than you can say "Screaming Eagles" (TV show Coach), its our old friends Mankato State.
Perhaps you might remember "Minnesota State-Mankato" that took our glorious 2003-04 National Championship team to the dry cleaners erasing a 7-1 DU lead behind a third string goaltender and prematurely ending assistant coach Steve Miller's Interim Coaching Career.
Anyway here is the Mavericks line charts against the Gophers last week, lo and behold, we didn't recognize a single player. Props to anyone outside of Minnesota who has heard of any of these guys.

I predict this will be a rough and tumble series.
Ask the people in Philly if they've heard of Kalinski. I'm sure they have:)
The main guys you need to know? Mouillierat (pronounced mall-rat), Kalinski, Berge, Kilburg, and Bruess. You'll more than likely hear their names a few times. Kalinski and Berge are the best players on the ice and are dangerous, so your boys better watch out! Plus, they're my personal favorites, so if you try to say anything bad about them on this blog I'm prepared to kick your ass!
Just because you don't know their names and because they're not ranked...don't underestimate them! Listen to Goon...we're tough:)
The Pios have a losing record vs MSUM, and I'm Gwoz will reminding the team that while there may not be many well-known names on this Mav team, we're sure they'll play hard and we'll be in for a very tough struggle for WCHA points this weekend.
I think this would be a fun series to watch, I predict that it will be very rough.
I am hoping it is on Fox college sports so I can tape the game.
Just for the record that kind of hockey is fun to watch.
DU finally has a winning record against Manka...er...Minnesota State. DU has gone 6-2-2 since blowing the six goal lead in 2004.
