Seabrook Struggles In Major Juniors

After leaving DU during this past summer, Keith Seabrook has struggled statistically with the Calgary Hitmen of the WHL. In 33 games he has 3 goals and 7 assists and has the second worst +/- on the team at -5.

He has one power play goal and no power play assists so far this season.

Seabrook was drafted in the 2nd Round of the 2006 NHL Draft by the Washington Capitals.

He was poorly prepared by the DU coaching staff!!

I'm sure you're right. They probably used up all their good coaching on Stastny and Carle and there was nothing left in the pantry for Seabrook.

Naa... It has not been the coaching. Problem is you have these guys like Dingle, Pock, etc... leaving Denver early just because they think they can do what Stastny and Carle did. Thing is Stastny and Carle had it... that talent you can only find once every 10 years if your lucky. Sure they were good no doubt but they weren't at that level. They left too early. That's how I've seen it.

Dingle could have definitely used another year of college hockey. Pauko could have probably benefitted as well, but he needed a change of scenery. He needs to play in setting that alows him to be physical without having to worry about the refs. Seabrook was a bit of an enigma. Had decent talent and upside, but apparently wasn't happy with life at DU and wasn't the best teammate in the world.

Bottom line....even if every college hockey player stays all 4 years, most won't make it to the big stage. It's just too competitive.

Gee wish I'd read these comments before I gave the Pauko update in the TJ Fast thread.
