Perhaps referee Randy Schmidt should not have been allowed to officiate Saturday's tilt between the University of Denver and Wisconsin, one day after Schmidt's gaffe of a video replay allowed the Pioneers to escape Friday's game with a victory instead of facing overtime.
DU won 3-2 on Friday but avoided overtime when Schmidt's video review of the play, in which the Badgers' Matthew Ford scored an apparent tying goal as time expired, allowed the play to stand.
The WCHA issued a statement before the rematch Saturday, won 7-2 by the Badgers, admitting Schmidt's error and saying the goal should have been allowed.
Schmidt was allowed to officiate Saturday because Shepherd did not know if Denver-based referee Don Adam was available, and he would have had to get permission from Colorado College coach Scott Owens and Alaska Anchorage coach Dave Shyiak in order to switch officials with those at the series CC was hosting in Colorado Springs.
"I talked to Randy a couple times (Saturday) and he said he felt fine about doing the game," Shepherd said. "If we start switching on every mistake, where does it stop? Whatever happens now, it is for the league to decide. I have to think about this and so does (WCHA commissioner) Bruce McLeod, and we'll look at what happened and jointly make a decision on what happens (with Schmidt).

Don Adam didn't referee the CC/UAA games. I know that because they were two mostly decently called games.
Although the Denver connection for Adam does explain some things about shit video replay call he made to screw UAA a couple of years ago.
Is Bruce going to be apologizing everytime he's in the rink and something goes amiss? First he's at the SCSU/DU game at the NHC and now Magness for DU/Bucky?
Who says "things are amiss" if the calls go DU's way? :-)

Is your middle name "whine"? Geez dude you need a hobby. Maybe you should spend some time helping the seawolves try to win a hockey game.
DTP does have a hobby -- finding the most scrumptious moose shit he can
