A Thursday morning update: Wisconsin's protest of last Friday's game against Denver was heard Wednesday night via a conference call of the league's faculty representatives.

That's the word from Bill Hudson, this season's chair of the association and a professor at St. Cloud State.

The league's faculty representatives -- minus those from Wisconsin and Denver, whose teams were involved in the protested game -- were expected to have a decision Wednesday, with an announcement Thursday.

The Badgers are asking for the loss to be changed to a tie on their record.

Man... I know the Baders got screwed and all on Friday, but if the WCHA does give them that point I can only imagine all the crying that other teams will go on making afterwards.

Which is why the deck is very much stacked against them tonight. Eliminate DU & Wisconsin from the discussion and virtually every team in the league is within 5 points of the Badgers.

The only senerio where I could see the Faculty change a game result was if one team was caught cheating or if a ref took a bribe. Otherwise they're not going to want to over rule the result on the ice.

Nonetheless the Badgers have a right to appeal and it sure would be fun to listen to the conference call tonight.

McLeod already took a step toward making the referees into empty shirts. I'd bet against it but who knows ... It's "faculty reps" so I suppose anything could happen.

If they're awarded the point I guess us UAA fans will have to come up with some good chants for this weekend when Eaves whines at the refs ...

Go Call Bruce ... clap clap ... clap clap clap
File An Appeal ... clap clap ... clap clap clap
We Want Schmidt ... clap clap ... clap clap clap

Any other suggestions ...???

Everytime they score...

Instant Replay clap, clap, clap, clap

What makes you think they're going to score?

OK, "If" they score. :-)

Ok then ... in the unlikely event that they actually score a goal I'll make sure that chant gets going. I'll 'splain it to our section beforehand even!

That will be funny.

The game is on FSN ... we're on the other side of the rink but maybe we can get a good enough one going to make it to air.
