DU Recruit Leads Shattuck To USA Championship

DU recruit David Carle (Anchorage, Alaska) served up one of his best performances of the season in the biggest game of the year on Sunday. He scored a goal and added an assist to help lead Shattuck-St. Mary's over Team Illinios 5-1 in the Tier I National Championship game in Amherst New York. In six games at the national tournament, Carle scored 3 goals and 3 assists.

Shattuck St Mary's is a coeducational boarding school in Faribault, Minnesota known for producing some of the nation's best hockey players. DU players that have attended Shattuck include Ryan Caldwell and Tyler Ruegsegger.

Carle, an elite defenseman, is expected to be selected in this summer's NHL Draft. He will attend DU next Fall where he is expected to provide some scoring punch on DU's blueline.
