Frozen Four Tickets Could Be Hard To Come By

I've received several emails from fans wondering about availability of Frozen Four tickets. On the surface the Denver Frozen Four should have an abundance of tickets available due to the distance and cost of travelling from the East Coast, the local teams flaming out in the first round of the Regionals and only one WCHA team making the field. That might still be the case, but anecdotal tales I'm hearing is that that the turnout is going to be far stronger than Columbus and St. Louis.

The best chance of landing tickets is going to be the Ticket Forum on USCHO or the internet ticket brokers. If you wait until the day of the game you are going to be competing with large local alumni bases from Michigan, Notre Dame, North Dakota & Boston College. Colorado has a huge transplant population from the midwest and northeast and they will be looking for tickets at the 11th hour. North Dakota especially has a large transient population in the Denver metro area.

The biggest factor that is going to limit ticket availability is the fact that only one ticket is available for both semi-final games. In past years you could always count of fans selling tickets to the semi-final game that their team didn't participate in. This year that option is not available.

Colorado College and DU fans were able to purchase tickets last year, but had to buy Regional tickets on a three to one basis. Since they had to lay out over $100 extra per Frozen Four ticket required (many of those Regional tickets went unused) they are going attend the Frozen Four.

So take your chances and good luck looking for tickets, but we're guessing that the barn is going to be full next weekend in Denver.

Comments, thoughts, what are you hearing?

The story on the tickets for the semi final games is that you can leave the building between games but you must scan your ticket as you exit the building

If you dont the ticket will not be vaild for the second game

This way you can have a different user for the second game but it is also buyer beware as you could get caught buying a ticket that has been used for the first game but not scaned out for use for the second game

Columbus was almost full (and sold out financially) while St. Louis was both sold out financially and highly attended.

Expect that Denver will be well-attended. The Frozen Four has reached "event" status now, and I am looking forward to it.//

We had extra tickets in Columbus that we couldn't even give away to scalpers.

the semi finals will be packed but there will be many tickets for the title game from the schools that lose as half of the people will head back home early if possible or just sell their tix. very easy to get as ive been to every frozen 4 in the last 15 years. only tix cbecome scarse is when a home town team is in it like in milwaukee then you can make a nice dollar...

Transient population? I feel so disposable.
