With the elimination of Matt Carle's San Jose Sharks and Paul Stastny's Colorado Avalanche from the NHL playoffs, several players with DU connections still remain in playoff contention around North America. Ryan Dingle and Adrian Veideman are still playing for the AHL Portland Pirates, while DU recruits Joe Colborne and Shawn Ostrow are playing for the Canadian Junior A Championship and DU recruit John Lee helped the Waterloo Blackhawks to a 4-3 overtime victory against Omaha last night in the USHL Championship Series or Clark Cup as it is known.

For the third time in the USHL playoffs, the Black Hawks went to overtime, picking up a 4-3 win against the Omaha Lancers in Game One of the Clark Cup championship series Sunday. John Lee did not figure in any of the scoring, but did draw two penalties during the game.

Waterloo last won the Clark Cup in the 2003-2004 season with DU defenseman Andrew Thomas & JP Testwuide on the blueline for the Blackhawks. Joe Pavelski (Wisconsin and now San Jose Sharks ) skated on offense with them.
