Joe Colborne is blogging his way through the RBC Tournament in Cornwell, Ontario this week. Over the past three years we've seen some inconsistent efforts as hockey players have been recruited to write articles or blog their on or off ice experiences.
Thankfully Colborne has been up to the task and the one thing that comes through in his articles is his sense of humor (humour for our Canadian readers) & a fluid writing style.

We even learned from Colborne what a "Shoe Check" is, although we had to look it up on Google.
Shoe-Checks
You can't get through junior or college hockey without seeing a "shoe-check." Usually on the road at the Thursday night meal, someone will creep under the table with a spoonful of some sort of sauce and dump it on another player's shoe. The culprit goes back to his seat undetected and the entire team starts to clink their glasses, as if at a wedding reception. This is the indication to check your shoes. The person who gets shoe-checked then identifies himself and has to clean up his shoes as best he can.

These entries from Colborne are great. Very entertaining. Can't help but chuckle at the shoe-check tradition. Good stuff. Thanks for sharing.
