Not that you already weren't a VERY proud alumni of DU...but now you should be extra proud. It was very very impressive and classy of DU to let Carle keep his scholarship and work with the team. Huge props to Gwoz and DU.

Also Kudos to Gwoz and DU for reminding people that hockey isn't all about wins, losses, and banners...it's about players too and what's best for them. It's nice to see some humanity that is often lost in athletics.

Will Carle's scholly still count against the 18? Or perhaps can they move the money to a need/merit based scholly from that the NC$$ doesn't control?

Its too early to tell or worry about DU's scholarship ramifications.

In January the NCAA moved closer to implementing rules to protect Athletes who become pregnant or have other medical conditions.

The NCAA legislation was overwhelmingly approved by the Division I management council.

The council approved not reducing or canceling a scholarship due to injury, illness or medical condition -- including pregnancy -- by a vote of 46-5.
