Former DU defenseman Chris Butler attended the Buffalo Sabres prospects camp last week. LetsGoSabres.com has a recap of the camp. They made this note about Chris on Day 6 of the camp.
Chris Butler has really improved his play from the start of camp.
A poster over at HFBoards had this observation about Chris.
In terms of being able to play in the NHL, he's damn close to Weber IMO. When I was at the prospect camp sessions, he looked really calm out there much like Weber did and impressed me a lot with a lot of the things he brought to the table like a good shot and good positioning in both ends of the ice among other things.
He'll probably do what Weber did last season, predominately play in the AHL this season and play a handful of games for Buffalo when injuries occur and make a push for the team the season after.
