DU recruit Paul Phillips (Darien, Ill.) joins Team USA Under-18 in the Memorial of Ivan Hlinka Tournament in the Czech Republic this week. Philllips played in the Five Nations Tournament last summer with the USA Under-17 team.Phillips currently plays for the Cedar Rapids Roughriders in the USHL and will enroll at DU in 2009.
The 2008 alignment has the United States in Group A with the Czech Republic, Finland, and Russia. Group B consists of Canada, Slovakia, Sweden, and Switzerland.
After having played two exhibitions against Canada and Slovakia, Team USA will face Russia today.
