Chamber's Blog Covers DU Legend Jim White

Mike Chamber's Blog has a stirring article on longtime Pioneer head off ice official Jim White. Jim has recently fallen ill and has missed the first three games of the season, after not missing a DU game since 1974. Jim is in all of our thoughts and Chambers has written a great article. [Please read it]

It would be great if DU dedicated a game to Jim soon, as nothing will heal him better than a couple of DU victories. :-)

Just to let everyone know, I fired off a "Boone" shirt to Jim this week. Jim's a great friend of mine and we need him fighting fit for this season.

During the 2005 Frozen Four Jim could have sat anywhere in the DU cheering section. He chose to sit next to me and the other rowdy's leading the cheers. He's cool dude.

I am praying for his return to good health and seeing him at the games. He has always been a class act. My very best to him.

My prayers go to Jim and his family during their hard times. Very nice of you to send him a shirt, i'm sure with all the support we should get him back in no time. Extra incentive for another weekend of Pioneer victories!

All of us who know him are thinking about him and his family constantly during this difficult time in his life.

For many of us, Jim is one of those "backbone" people that keep a program great.

If you have ever been fortunate enough to spend time with him, it's always time well spent.

Thanks for posting this, DG.

My dad is facing a battle for his life right now.

My mom and I are working very hard right now to be able to get him home and comfortable. The entire DU hockey family has been amazingly supportive during this ordeal. We'll get him to a game as soon as we can.

Thanks again.

Chick Magness --

I will be sure to tell him. I already know who you are as my dad told me awhile back.

Thanks.
