Denver Post Compares Chevy To CC Goaltender

(above) Chevy poses for a "Glamour Shot"

Mike Chambers of the Denver Post has an excellent article today about DU goaltender Marc Cheverie and Colorado College sieve Richard Bachman. The article is very good, but Chambers forgot to mention Bachman & Colorado College being upset in their final three playoff games to lower ranked teams.

DU won a huge recruiting battle over powerhouses Cornell, North Dakota and Michigan State to land Cheverie in 2006. Obviously, DU's success in developing professional goaltenders Wade Dubielewicz, Adam Berkhoel, Glenn Fisher and now Peter Mannino played a role in the decision.

Unbelievably, Chambers even got NHL superstar Sidney Crosby to make some quotes about Chevy, who grew up on the same street together in Cole Harbor, Nova Scotia. (Read the entire article)
"We played a couple seasons in minor hockey, and we grew up playing street hockey together," Crosby said of Cheverie. "Cole Harbour's not a huge place, so a lot of us played hockey together.

"I haven't seen him for a year or two. He was always kind of a quieter guy. He was a pretty technically sound goalie from what I remember. He was a big guy, took up a lot of net. I heard he's doing well."

Time to get on board the Chevy Bandwagon.

so basically mike 'my head has' chambers is saying that chevy wins the size comparison, while bachman wins the experience, quickness, composure, and confidence comparisons. still time to trade that chevy in for a good old model A - as in lArs pAulgAArd. gwoz is still going to split time with him, right???

I'll go with the Blue Chipper over the DU Reject.

I'm looking forward to see how Chevy's legacy at DU unfolds. He looked solid against Alberta and has a good team in front of him. It's never easy following a legend (Mannino) but he seems up to the task.

I'm on the bandwagon.

Twister, I agree. I had my doubts, because of the lack of experience. He looked cool and confident Saturday night...as I have said before, the team has the firepower. I hope the four that were suspended got the message...Gwoz doesn't put up with a lot of nonsense.

Let's see how Chevy does vs. Notre Dame, Wisconsin, Ohio State and CC this month...

Apparently, his own teammates are impressed with his improvements...

Question is, how do we rewrite American Pie to make it work?

Well, first off, you would have to include Eddie Haskel and then work in a billy goat sex scene with a 'tig. Seems doable...

Nice article by MC. I love that the post pays him to focus on college hockey. We have the top two teams in the WCHA (the best conference in CH) here.

Chevy looked sharp and the D was OK also except for the turnovers in the 3rd.

Just hope he doesn't get hurt because his back-up sucks!
