DU sweeps Wisconsin for the first time at Magness since 2003. DU won the game Saturday night 7-4 with everybody getting into the act. DU broke open a 3-3 tie in the second period with goals by Rhett Rakhshani and The Goal Czar.
  • DU has scored 18 goals in three games, including 10 goals in the 3rd period.
  • Joe Colborne was +2 for the game and had his first collegiate assist. He just missed a goal in the third period and played his best game by far.
  • Chris Nutini was +4 for the game. Surely a DU career best game for Nutini. Another defenseman, Patrick Mullen, leads all blueliners with 6 points this season, all assists.
  • Tyler Bozak had two goals to pad his team scoring lead with 8 points, while Luke Salazar had a goal and now has 5 points in three games. The Goal Czar is making a run for WCHA Rookie of the Year. Its just amazing.

Great weekend for DU. Getting a sweep against a tough Badger team in the first weekend of league play is awesome. The Pios will need to tighten up defensively as the season goes on, but a great start.

Gotta love Texas Junior A Hockey - both Nutini and Salazar played for the same team in Wichita Falls.
