- George Gwozdecky

So, I'm currently studying abroad in Australia, and was at the world famous Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary today and the koala we held was named Damien. And I thought of Boone.

That must have been one tough Koala. :-)

I think it's getting about time to do another health check...yep! Castro is still kicking. Time to keep it coming this weekend. Go DU! Hasta la victoria siempra!

CC players are having their team lunch at the DU HRTM building at 12 PM tomorrow if anyone wants to boycot and heckle them

So what you're saying is that the Colorado College hockey team is eating lunch at the HRTM building at 12 PM on Friday.

Would an impromptu Pep Rally out front of the HRTM building at 12 PM on Friday be a good idea?

I bet the food in the HRTM building was pretty decent. If we really wanted a home ice advantage, we should have just sent our usual Sodexo sludge their way.

Damn, another frustrating loss to CC. In its last 10 games vs the Tigers DU is now a ghastly 1-7-2, if my math is correct. Those numbers are hard to stomach.

I guess we all have to tip our caps to Bachman. That kid is scary good. He was amazing in both games. It's hard to fathom that DU fired almost 90 shots this weekend and could only manage 4 goals.

I thought the Pios did some really good things and had some great sequences this weekend.....but they have to find a way to bury their chances in these types of games. Hopefully Gwoz and the team can figure out a new strategy before the teams play again.

Of course I'm glad CC won but I'm even more glad we got a great game for the national audience and hopefully got some exposure for our amazing college hockey on the Front Range. See you guys at the end of the year

Ya we lost but even so I'm really not impressed with CC's team. There is only one player that I hate to say impressed me all weekend and that was Bachman. He made a ton of amazing saves on us. He'll be carrying this team on his back.

Off them DU was really frustrating to watch this weekend.
1) The PP... every time they tried to make the play look pretty, they pass and hold the puck forever and they hardly made any real aggressive play. Every goal but one was off a play where they crashed the net and caused havoc in front of the net.
2) The turn overs... KILLED DU all weekend long. Especially tonight where CC would get an easy 3 on 1 or something. I called a goal every time I saw that trash.

One last thing... What happened to the World Arena? Up 2 goals most of the game... that place was so quite. That really shocked me.

That's my observation of the weekend.

The more I think about it, the more I think DU is long on talent, but needs more maturity and smart play to go with the high level of effort if they expect to contend.

Hopefully, they use this weekend to start winning again.
