After getting their ass kicked twice last week by the elite of the Hockey East, Boston College and New Hampshire, University of Wisconsin coach Mike Eaves called the first "Team Meeting" in college hockey this season.

At the meeting the players heard Eaves tell them they need to get better. "It's a matter of them understanding that unless we understand the need to get better on a day-by-day, week-by-week basis "” and they're in charge of that "” that we're not going to get to where they want to be," he said.

They'll have to be better than they were last weekend, when they looked good at times but made too many mistakes to get past quality Boston College and New Hampshire teams. With Denver on the docket this weekend ... and Minnesota afterward ... and North Dakota afterward ... it's vital that the Badgers take a step quickly. Yes, it's early in the season, but they can't afford to let things get out of hand.

Fark the vadgers!!!! It may not QUITE make up for getting screwed by the NCAA; but Dew had damn well better come out with a taste for blood this weekend.
