"A big part of (the layoff) is skating, and just being able to skate," coach George Gwozdecky said. "We discussed that - we talked to the guys about that. The guys that will be in town will have ice available here every day. And (strength coach) Mike Sanders gives them what he calls a 'Navy SEAL' program they can do without the use of a weight room. The recent surge by the University of Denver has made the Pioneers one of the hottest college hockey teams in the nation.
