DU 6 - UAA 2 **Minnesota & North Dakota Lose**

(above) Pat Mullen shows his physical side last night against UAA

What's the only thing better than watching DU steamroll the Seawolves? Knowing that North Dakota and Minnesota were upset earlier in the evening.

The night got off to a shaky start, when it was announced that secong line center Jesse Martin was a scratch with a "lower body injury." The injury was sustained last weekend against North Dakota and caused some reshuffling of the lines.

After a first period that saw DU lead 1-0, Denver exploded for three unanswered goals in the 2nd period and the game was essentially over. The 3rd goal was interesting because the refs missed the goal going in the net and play continued for 30 seconds. A replay clearly showed the puck go into the net and bounce crisply out. Good to see the replay system work.

Dustin Jackson had his best game in a while and recorded three assists. He was a major contributor down the stretch last season, so perhaps he's heating up for another big stretch run.

Good showing by DU this evening. A few mistakes and too many breakaways for the other side but they took care of business. Better do the same tomorrow and sweep.

What is the ruling on the penalty after the goal? Why wasn't it nullified? Technically the game resets to the point where the goal was scored, so the penalty couldn't have happened?

Did anyone watching tv see the Gwoz pictures we printed and had on the glass the whole game? It was our show of solidarity.

An athletics department staff member took a picture of them and sent it to him, so he knows we're behind him.

Alright, Was it Just me or was that the most people you have ever seen in a Penalty box at one time. I mean Lee was laughing about the situation with Nutini while they where in the Sin Bin. I mean after Gwoz March and Now the Imprisonment of Many a DU players this season really is turning more and more like Bridge over the River Kwai

Noticed that as well. I guess the game goes on and the penalties and time that elapses after the "goal" still counts. Miller protested to the refs, so the rule must be that penalties count.

The Gwoz pics were on TV several times during the game. Also the Gwoz photos on the glass were hilarious. Good job to whomever thought of the photos.

The snitches at ND nark on Gwoz. DU still wins and UND loses. How awesome is that. Plus they still have to live in North Dakota. :-)

Fox Sports announcer Dan Kelly mentioned the Boone on Chevy's helmet and Mannino. Leter they showed a Boone poster on TV.

Good stuff.

YES HUGE PROPS to the one who came up with that.

I brought the Gwoz pictures, Matt or Jason had the Boone flag (it's undefeated).

Jason brought the flag, I had it down on the camera a couple times.

I probably won't be able to get my whole "Gwoz on a Stick" thing pulled off tonight, but I'll cook up something special for the cameras down at the World in February.

With DU in the thick of the race toward a MacNaughton Cup and no more home games for about a month, I hope the fan turnout is better tonight. There were at least 1,000 empty seats last night, and this team is worthy of better support. I'd also like to see more students in the barn.
