Gwozdecky March Draws Newspaper Coverage

DU Hockey Coach George Gwozdecky's march across the ice drew some much needed newspaper coverage to the University of Denver hockey program. With slow ticket sales expected for this weekend's tilt with the University of Alaska-Anchorage, this coverage is sure to help the gate.
The Rocky Mountain News has a story on DU's sternly worded "Reprimand."

The New York Times recaps "The Walk To The Locker Room."

Mike Chambers of the Denver Post has the details on what was discussed between Gwozdecky and the Assistant Referee.

Even the newspaper writers in North Dakota are dumb asses, as evidenced by this piece of garbage.

DU Bites:

If you are going to accuse DG of of being something less than the intelligent, funny and highly- successful man he is, we'd at least prefer to see you select the proper spelling of the accusatory word.

I believe I corrected his/her spelling errors yesterday, apparently grammar and spelling is not a prerequisite for graduation from ND

This incident makes me ponder lots of things about the WCHA.

1. How bad has the reffing gotten? That the cool head Gwoz flipped his lid on Saturday night. Maybe GG though the blue line was a run-way and was just trying to show off his snazzy new GQ suit? :)

2. That the league/ref didn't call the game forfeit by DU? (I guess I shouldn't be suprised they don't enforce many of the other rules, either.)

3. Does this "stroll across the ice" give the other coaches a "get out of jail" free card, if they decide to ponder on the pond during a game?

4. Did Gwoz perhaps get some favor from McCloud, since they hang out together in Denver?

5. They say the ref's are graded, why not publish their grades? (Some of them my need summer school.)

Just a few of many questions to think about.

(At least we didn't have an incident like Michigan-Michigan State on Saturday, ugh.)

By NHL standards these two games were pretty tame if you ask me. I have seen worse between the Wild and the Av's.

"Your" is possessive. "You're" is the contraction you + are. "Dumbass" is usually one word not two.

In summary I think you meant "You're a dumbass."
