Many WCHA Teams May Not Make 2009 NCAA's

In previous years at this time of the season, the Western Collegiate Hockey Association typically has half of its 10 teams in position to make the NCAA Tournament. This year, however, just two would make the national field if at-large berths were announced today — even though only two WCHA squads have below .500 overall records.

Given that most WCHA teams have just 12 regular-season games remaining, the panic button has been applied.

"This league has shown parity that I haven't seen in a long time," University of Denver coach George Gwozdecky said. "There are a lot of people complaining that the WCHA is headed toward a down year, and I would probably agree in a certain sense, but the early exodus of players over the last two or three years is finally catching up with us." This graphic alone is reason enough to bring back Boone. Every team in the league has an easily recognizable mascot except DU. Heck even the last-place Tech Husky is showing us no respect as he is obviously attempting to sire some puppies with our Rorschach Test of a logo.

LMOA! I was just thinking the same thing. As long as DU makes it I don't really care about the other WCHA teams.

Im struggling to understand why every team is running away from Wisconsin. Whats the reasoning behind this?
