DU Recruit Shawn Ostrow Returns To Action

DU recruit Shawn Ostrow was considered to be one of the top recruits in the Alberta Junior Hockey League. As a rookie teammate of Joe Colborne last season for the Camrose Kodiaks, Ostrow helped lead the Kodiaks to the Canadian Junior Hockey League's championship game.

A knee injury during training camp was expected to sideline Ostrow for the season, but he made a dramatic comeback on Saturday night scoring a shorthanded goal. Although Camrose lost the game to the Calgary Canucks, the Kodiaks should be a far better team with Ostrow back in the lineup.

Ostrow is expected to join his brother Kyle on the Pioneers roster next season.

Shawn has terrific skills offensively, and is defensively responsible as well. He sees the ice very well, and has a terrific, quick release. He will be a solid addition to the Pioneers next fall, although we are hoping he will continue the production here in the upcoming playoffs.
