Tight end Brian Mandeville from Northeastern University waited for his invite to the NFL Combine, and finally, it came. He ventured out to California to prepare at the Velocity Sports Performance Center. And when the time came to show up at the combine and impress everyone, doctors instead told him that he should retire before he even got started. DU Alum Brent Skinner finally realized a dream by getting to play a few NHL games for the New York Islanders earlier this season, but was soon traded to the Atlanta Thrashers organization. He's now playing for the Chicago Wolves of the AHL.
