Duluth Based Blogger Takes Her Best Shot At DU

Whenever one of the perennial WCHA "doormats" is having a good season, once every decade or so, you can count on their fanbase to ramp up the pre-game intensity on the internet. Such is the case this week with Minnesota-Duluth hockey blogger Runnin' With The Dogs.

We have to give her credit though, because instead of attacking our coaches and players, she's decided to take her shots at DU's hockey blogging community.

All things considered its a pretty humorous article for a "Gopher Reject Blog," so we'll take take all in stride and give her the props she deserves. Obviously she's out of her league, but then again, so is the Minnesota-Duluth hockey team.

DU sweeps.

RWD has a wicked sense of humor andstands behind her team.

Unfortunately, her team's home winning record is in for a set back this weekend.

Stalock and Chevy are currently 1 and 2 in the WCHA. The DU offense needs to be the difference maker and the DU defense needs to be there for Chevy. And how about a few Pioneer Power Play goals? I vote YES! YES! YES!( Repeat the vote on Saturday night.)

That's a great read. RWD is obviously quite a talent with a very bright future.

I'm not really sure what to expect from our up and down Pioneer team this weekend. Since the holiday break this has been a very difficult team to figure out. Besides the disappointing Denver Cup and a sweep of last-place Tech, DU has suffered a blowout loss to UND, came back to battle hard and earn a tie (should have won though), had a solid win against UAA, and then had a horrendous loss in OT most recently. Regardless, DU continues to maintain its top spot in the WCHA.

There's no such thing as an easy weekend in the WCHA, and DU has a huge challenge going on the road against a tough Duluth team that appears to be much improved over the team that DU swept here back in November. My gut feeling says split, but I wouldn't be at all surprised if the Pios earned a sweep or returned home with just a tie.
