The historic rivalry between the University of Denver and Colorado College will enjoy a unique twist this week as the Western Collegiate Hockey Association competitors play a lone game Friday in Colorado Springs.
Scheduling conflicts forced the teams to delay the rematch until March 7 at DU's Magness Arena in the final game of the regular season, yet by the time that showdown rolls around, there is a good chance the league's playoff race will remain as convoluted as it is now.
"I don't ever recall a race as tight as this one with as many teams vying for a playoff spot at this time of year," DU coach George Gwozdecky said. "It might be unprecedented." [read rest of article]
