FSN-Rocky Mountain Won't Televise Final 5

Breaking News: Fox Sports - Rocky Mountain WILL televise Both of DU's games this weekend

DU hockey fans that want to watch the Final 5 WCHA Playoff Championships will have to be creative if they want to see the Pioneers on TV.

The Final 5 won't be televised on Fox Sports-Rocky Mountain, but can be seen on Fox Sports-North, the same network that televises the Minnesota Gophers hockey games.

Viewers with DirecTV, the Dish Network or local cable companies with expanded "sports packs" may have access to the Final 5. Most sports bars with DirecTV should have the games as well.

If you have Comcast, call and order for the "sports package." It's an extra $5 a month. It's on either channel 415 or 416.

All Final 5 games will also be audiocast at www.wcha.com

DU will play the Wisconsin Badgers at 1 PM (MDT) on Friday afternoon. Then DU will either play on Saturday afternoon in the Consolation Game or the evening's Championship Game.

The official reason FSN-RM won't televise the games, "They are now part of the Liberty Sports Group and not under the main FSN ownership."

If you have information on what stations or cable companies have access to the games or DU viewing parties around Denver, please post them in the "Comments Section" below.

As always contacting Fox Sports to express your displeasure couldn't hurt.

What a bunch of BS.

Just so you know... the DU/Denver game will be the Friday afternoon game because if Minnesota beats UMD due to the contract with the Xcel, they have to be in the night game. If Minnesota loses to UMD, the night game will be UND/UMD because UND is the top seed.

You would think Comcast could pick up the feed from FSN North and put it on one of the other 800 channels I never watch. Perhaps the world could go on for three hours with one less jewelry show or blurry city council meeting...

Any SOPCast feeds?

I guess there's FSN on the radio, but I have a bad feeling it won't be on due to the problems with RM vs. North...

If you are in Denver, call Comcast and ask for the sports package. It's an extra $5 a month. After the NCAA, you can cancel it. It's on either channel 415 or 416.

Hey, if you don't have it, everyone come to my house for beer and nachos!

I hope you'be cleared this party with Mrs. msbdu. :-)

She is taking off work on Friday to see "her boyz" play. She may not have graduated from DU, but her support is as strong as any of us!

The "relationship" with FSRM and DU is an absolute joke. FSRM doesn't spend any money to carry one of the premier college athletic programs in the region. And, they would rather have that stupid "Best Damn Sports Show" on than a playoff game. What a waste. Find a true partner DU.

So much for FSN Rocky Mountain’s support for local teams. Sad that the “official” station for DU sports can’t be bothered with airing DU in the Final Five. FSN has more important programming - a tennis match Friday and repeats of a Rockies highlight reel Saturday.

Their disregard is even more perplexing since FSN North has the Final Five and it would be simple to pick up their broadcast.

True, Comcast customers can find FSN North on one of their premium channels at an extra fee. Hey, Comcast – how about showing your support for local sports by unblocking those channels for the Final Five. You could be heroes with the college hockey community while FSN would be the goats.

This is beyond ludicrous. FSN is the flagship station during the regular season but won't broadcast the Final Five?? Whoever is in charge over there needs a frontal lobotomy.

Why doesn't this station just Fail already so Kroenke can increase his media empire and pu the Pios and Rockies on Altitude?

I for one am TIRED of the low budget production they put on for the DU games so they can save all their money to screw up the Rockies telecasts.

It's not entirely FSN's fault. Comcast is to blame a bit too. If Comcast had ESPNU, we might have a shot at contracting DU games out to ESPNU rather than FSN. However, since Comcast does not have ESPNU, FSN has grabbed the opportunity, at least in this area...

Kroenke is laying off employees of the Nuggets, Avs & Pepsi Center.

I thought the telecasts were 100% better this season with the pre & post game shows, the announcing team & sideline reporter.

If we could just get HD it would be a huge upgrade.

That being said, I'm not complaining. 20+ games a year available to fans all over the country.

Speaking of Kronke layoffs, a friend of mine from high school was a recent victim of that. :(

See he's costcutting to make a move!

DG .. it was better this year; but still -- It so annoys me that DU telecasts look terrible. Also, their radio broadcast is stuck on a weak AM band while the CC games get broadcast on the FM sports station in Denver. What sense does THAT make? Who wants to hear fail in stereo????

But seriously, sorry to anyone who's losing a job with KSE!

Nothing like that home town support!

The only reason CC games are on the Fan (104 FM) is because the Fan lost the Avs and Nuggets to Mile High Sports and had a big holes to fill. The Fan had DU hockey for a long time, but had already given up on DU hockey last year -- I don't think they thought they'd lose the Avs and Nuggets. Mile High Sports embraced the Pios, but once they got the Avs and Nuggets too, they had put DU games somewhere, and that's why DU games are on 3 different stations.

As for the shadows at Magness on TV, there is nothing that can be done as far as I know- it's a white balance issue with the TV cameras.

It doesn't suprise me, you have a better chance catching a college game on the nhl network than a DU game on fox sports rky mtn. Nothing beats listening to Doug and Frank on Fri and Sat nights. Go Gophers.

I don't really think a DU fan or a gopher fan would have a whole lot of reason to want to watch this?? It should be a good championship game between WI and UND. Duluth should easily wrap uo the 3rd spot. Tough break for DU.

Please bow, the almighty has returned to us. Please tell me, what's the score? I know, spoiler alert folks, but hey, since we already know the result? Please part the ice since you can see the future...
