News & Notes From Around Pioneer Nation

DU alum Glenn Fisher of the Las Vegas Wranglers was named ECHL Goaltender of the Week. The 25 year old was 2-0-0 with a shutout, a goals-against average of 0.50 and a save percentage of .983. Fisher posted back-to-back wins against Idaho turning aside 25 of 26 shots in a 4-1 win on Friday and then stopping all 36 shots, including 17 in the third period, in a 3-0 win on Saturday.

There is a great article on DU Alum and Colorado Springs native Luke Fulgham who now plays hockey in Manchester, England. Fulgham called his four years at DU, "The most amazing of my career so far and it's pretty hard to top that [two NCAA Championships]. I was fortunate enough to sign with the Toronto Maple Leafs out of college. I never made it to the NHL, but played 30 or so games in the AHL and three years in the East Coast Hockey League and it was a great experience."

Mike Chambers of the Denver Post talks about DU's remarkable 6-0-0 record in the Final 5 at the Xcel Center.

Andy Baggot of the Badger Beat Blog examines the possibility that Wisconsin could lose to DU for a fifth time this season. Not to worry, the Badgers lost to Duluth eight times in the 1983-84 season. Ouch.
