Testwuide Played With Partially Torn Ligament

Denver Coach George Gwozdecky just shook his head in disbelief when discussing his captain, senior defenseman J.P. Testwuide.

Testwuide, a non-scholarship recruit from Vail, played Friday with a partially torn ligament in his left knee.

"He shouldn't have played today," Gwozdecky said of Testwuide. "His knee is real bad, and that took unbelievable guts and determination. The pain threshold he has is incredible."

When told of Gwozdecky's comments, Testwuide said: "That's a big honor. Wow."

Testwuide, who entered the game with a team-high plus-17 rating, didn't practice with the team this week since he suffered the injury last Saturday in the WCHA playoff championship in St. Paul.

He called this season "a heck of a ride" and said "he wouldn't trade it for anything." [read entire article]

Ok, so do we assume Bozak will be gone?

The game seemed to be a combination of Miami being hungry and DU's lack of intensity. Like I said before, the defense was sloppy at best. Tough way to end the season

Bozak is gone but it may happen over the summer to give the knee more time or it may happen tomorrow.

The issue isn't the money, he's going to get the rookie maximum. The questions are what team is going to give him the most playing time, surround him with the best linemates and will they give him every opportunity to succeed.

Having Tyler make the NHL will be a huge recruiting tool for DU.

I think the comment about the scholastic achievements of this team should not be over looked. This is a huge achievement and both the students and the athletic department are to be congratulated.

It might be nice to send Gwoz an email thanking him and his staff for all of their efforts and to thank the team for all of their hard work

DU SUCKED yesterday. They were NEVER in that game and were obviously outcoached and outplayed at every position. How do you work so hard YEAR ROUND and go out with that whimper? Hard to believe Gwoz has all that experience preparing teams for big, big games. Was he in awe of Rico?? That was Miami's first game all season on big ice?? wow We have gutsy players--wait til next year!!

I would like to say how much I have enjoyed the season. Nobody picked DU to finsh second in the WCHA. Great job and next season should be even better. I sure would like to see Bozak back. Nothing in this town beats DU Hockey for the money. Sure wish they would get the pep band there every game. Thanks Pioneers and see you soon.
