Team USA won its first two games at the World Junior Championship this past weekend. DU recruit and goaltender Adam Murray started off the tournament not giving up a goal in 100 minutes of action, before Finland finally broke the streak.

The USA won 8-0 over Norway and then held on 4-3 against Finland. Murray was the player of the game against Finland and 2010 recruit Jason Zucker scored a goal against Norway. Zucker is one of the youngest players in the Tournament.

DU recruits Drew Shore and William Wrenn also play for Team USA.

The USA plays Slovakia tonight at 7:30 CST.

With Cheverie playing very well for us this year and Murray coming in next year we should be all set in that very important goalie position. With Rakshanie and Rhugs staying and those promising freshman defensemen coming in ,next year looks very promising.
See you in Detroit next April

With a strong core (hopefully) all returning minus Bozak, plus the incoming class which sounds stellar, it's hard not to be psyched about DU's chances next year. With a sizeable senior class there should be no shortage of leadership, and Chevy has proven himself to be an excellent goaltender. On paper at least, the Pios should be a top-5 caliber team.
