Wiercioch Will Play For DU Next Season

(above) Patrick Wiercioch will be one of the best players in college hockey next season

Just a little blurb from Canoe.ca Website, but huge news for the Pioneers if true. Of course perhaps this was just negotiated in the Tyler Bozak contract battle.
"University of Denver F Patrick Wiercioch, Ottawa's second-round pick in 2008, won't be leaving college next season to join the Senators."

I think we need to post guards on the Canadian border. Perhaps that could be Boone's his first assignment.

This is BIG news. Both Patrick and DU benefit. The benefit to DU is obvious. Patrick is still very young and so very slim, another year to build strength makes sense.

Next year--All American recognition and Hobey finalist, Hobey hat trick, even the prize itself are not out of the realm of possibility.

Good thing we have defensemen coming in, because I can't imagine Patrick won't be selected for the Canadian National Team. He almost made it this time with an injured shoulder.
