The University of Denver's 2009-2010 hockey schedule hasn't been released yet but a few dates on the upcoming season have been compiled from various sources. We've cobbled together DU's upcoming season based on other schools' schedules and DU's rotating WCHA opponents.
An email to DU season ticket holders said Boston College would be at the Denver Cup.
However a newspaper article back east said that defending National Champion Boston University may be making its second consecutive trip to the Denver Cup. The only teams that has officially been confirmed for the Denver Cup are St. Lawrence University & Boston College. St. Lawrence coach Joe Marsh said he believed "Boston University was in the mix."

wait so the cc series might be while all of DU is on winter break?
DU makes an extra $20,000 or so by selling the student seats to Denverites at full pop for the CC game.
Follow the money.
I have hear this might be the last year of this silly arrangement. That game should belong to the students.
The CC and North Dakota games should be held for the students.
The CC and ND games do belong to the students. It's not home ice unless you have the fans behind you and we all know ND likes to bring the whole family where ever they go.
Its really hard to build spirit & tradition with DU stabbing the students in the back and playing the CC game over XMAS Break.
But unless you let the AD, Ron Grahame & the coaching staff hear about it, they're going to keep on doing it.
Re: CC over Christmas break--that really sucks. The game in March at Magness was great. The students made the atmosphere what it was.
From the Latest release from DU:
"Full season ticket holders will enjoy a 23 game home schedule, while Power Pack holders enjoy 11 games in their package. College hockey heavyweights Vermont, Boston College, Minnesota, North Dakota, and Colorado College all make their way to Magness Arena this season."
Noitice BOSTON COLLEGE and not Boston University....
You forgot to add DETROIT to the end of the schedule. This team is going to Ford Field (home of the worst football team of all time). Captain Rak, Chevy, Drew and the boys will turn that place UpSiDe DoWn !
Detroit added. :-)
It's going to be sad not having a Halloween game again. Plus, how many students will be able to make it to the CC and North Dakota games?
The first four home series of the year have very good potential for the students.
Vermont is a Frozen Four team and will be the 60th Anniversary of the hockey program weekend.
Minnesota is always fun.
St. Cloud will be parents & Homecoming weekend with the added attraction of Halloween. DU needs to really make that weekend HUGE.
North Dakota will be close or during Finals, but that's a must win weekend.
We need to get the students back for the Denver Cup. Some sort of special marketing or ideas should be implemented.
The rest of the home schedule should be pretty easy for DU, so if they are really humming along next season maybe the opponent won't matter too much.
I'd like to see the students get a bus down for the Air Force game in the Springs. We can probably arrange an insiders tour of the Academy.
BU season ticket holder here. BU's playing 27 Hockey East games, 2 Beanpot games, and Cornell (at MSG), Harvard (road), Notre Dame (home), Michigan (home), and RPI (home) in its out of league games. The Denver Cup isn't happening again this year. You must be getting the 2nd rate team from down the street instead.
I think we just need to build a tent city somewhere nearby so all the kids kicked out of dorms can stay an extra few weeks to get in some good rival games.
Can we make this happen?
We can call the tent city - Boonetown. :-)
Although it's not DU related, I heard this fall there's supposed to be a pre-Olympic women's exhibition game at Magness as well, USA v. Canada.
Can someone explain why the NCAA regionals are always in St. Paul.
The USA Women's team will play Canada in Magness on Dec. 12, 2009. Should be a great event.

Regarding the NCAA in St. Paul, there are very few cities out west that can host Regionals. Mariucci & the Xcel Center sell a lot of tickets, guarentee the NCAA a revenue stream and are willing to make the sacrifice.
Considering there are five D-1 hockey programs in Minnesota and only three in Colorado they certainly deserve to host the regionals more frequently.
Colorado Springs hosted Regionals in 2004 & 2008, Denver hosted a Regional in 2007 & the Frozen Four in 2008.
Nebraska-Omaha Mavericks will be the fourth team in the Denver Cup 2010.
