Western College Hockey is reporting via the Columbus Dispatch's website that prized CC recruit John Moore has jilted Colorado College. He's supposedly off to Kitchener in the OHL.
The handwriting was on the wall the minute the kid visited Kitchener last Spring after committing to Colorado College. Of course Scotty shouting from rooftops during the Tigers end of season banquet that Moore was, "Still coming to CC," only added to the drama and eventual tragedy.

"Defenseman John Moore, the Blue Jackets first-round pick in the recent NHL draft is expected to play for the Kitchener Rangers of the Ontario Hockey League this coming season, the Dispatch has learned. An announcement is likely to come later this week.The slick-skating Moore also was recruited by Colorado College.
Moore will attend Blue Jackets camp in September, but he not expected to play in the NHL for a season or two."

Even though this is a huge help for DU, and its great to see CC lose its prized recruit, its also a blow to NCAA as once again college hockey loses a great player to the CHL.
Its a sign of the times.
If a player knows for sure he's only going to college for one year, what's the point of attending Intro-level classes for a semester and a half? He's far better off in major juniors.
This is a situation, where CC should of said to Moore back in March, either come to school or play major juniors, but don't jerk us around all summer.
CC was desperate for the kid to come to college and he walked all over them.
DU's talent is better than ever, and you have to credit the coaching staff for avoiding players that aren't 100% committed to playing college hockey.
Too bad, I was looking forward to see the kid play. Oh well, I'll just have to revel in the glory of DU kicking CC's ass all over the ice this season. LOL.
I agree that this is not good for college hockey.
CC must have been dreaming to think that this kid was going to play for them. He was dragging his feet for way too long. He used them as a contingency plan.
I can't say I feel too bad for them. I don't how the NCAA stops the exodus to the CHL.
I also am truly sad to hear this. I was SO looking forward to the "YOU SUCK" and the "IT'S ALL YOUR FAULT" chants directed at this prized little girl inside Madness Arena. The only thing this does is maybe save some DU student's vocal chords... period. Incase you didn't know, Colorado College sucks!
He must of realized they haven't won any playoff hardware in 52 years.
Forgot to mention... I think the NCAA could help itself if it gave itself more exposure. I mean on the national scene you never see anything till the tournament.
Honestly, I feel for CC fans. This is blow for all of college hockey.
First rounders are important credibility builders for our sport.
Think how we would feel if we had landed a first rounder and he left before ever playing a game.
I wanted to see this kid play.

this hasn't been reported in any media outlets, but i heard from a friend of a friend that Moore was given an offer he couldn't refuse by Kaiser Soze (aka the Swami) to not attend CC.
