Former DU Captain Brian Vines is leaving the Miami University Redhawks to join former DU assistant Seth Appert at RPI. Vines a former defenseman for the University of Denver served as a volunteer assistant coach for the RedHawk staff for the 2008-09 season. Vines will replace another former Pioneer, Shawn Kurulak who resigned as an RPI assistant coach in order to move back to Denver and pursue business interests not related to hockey.
Former DU star Tyler Bozak will have to battle Christian Hanson and Andre Deveaux for fourth line duties on the Toronto Maple Leafs this preseason.

Been something of a rough summer for Drew, so he should let these naysayers stoke a biger fire in his belly to prove them wrong.
All I ask of any player in a Pioneer uniform is to give your best effort on and off the ice, in the classroom and represent the University well.
It will be interesting to see where Shore gets slotted in the lineup. You could make a case for him anywhere between the first & fourth lines.
DU does appear to be overloaded with high quality centers. Ruegs, Big Joe & Martin.

Well, comments aside, their '7.5 / second line NHL' grade is none-too-shabby.
Oh yeah, I forgot: the prevailing wisdom among DUh fans is that HF doesn't know what they are talking about.
I don't have a problem with what HF wrote. Shore was once thought of as a top 20 pick and ended up being selected in the middle of the second round. Teams must have had a reason. Besides a good first year at DU would help to erase doubts about his play.
