The University of Denver Board of Trustees has elected prominent Denver business leader Trygve Myhren its chairman. Myhren, a DU trustee since 1995, succeeds Joy S. Burns. Burns was "anti-Boone," so with the changing of the guard, new opportunities arise.
The election took place Aug. 31. Myhren is president of Myhren Media Inc. He is a founder or co-founder of six cable TV networks, including the Food Network, Northwest Cable News and E! Entertainment.

Myrhen is a Dartmouth guy (both undergard and grad) so he knows something about mascot controversy, as Dartmouth abondoned its Indian mascot years ago, became the 'Big Green' and now tolerates "Keggy the Keg" as an unnoficial mascot.
Getting feminist Joy Burns out of the mix is significant in our pro Boone movement. Good news!
I hope a new person in charge of the trustees will help the Boone cause, but I doubt its high on their priority list (unless a BIG donor makes it so). And before we rip on Joy Burns too much, remember, a big part of the Ritchie center, and nice rink for rec hockey is largely due to her
