It was a triumphant return for Denver Boone to Magness Arena on Friday night. Replaced by Ruckus, the red tailed hawk in 1999 and banned from campus a year ago by DU's administration, Boone stormed into Magness and won over the children, the students and the fans.

Many of the alums and fans who funded the Boone Initiative were grinning from ear to ear as Boone worked the Arena.

Boone gave away 100 coloring boards before the game and the kids had a blast coloring him in and waving their artwork during the game. Many posed for pictures with Boone and patiently waited for autographs.

When Boone entered the student section shortly after the game began, he was greeted by thunderous applause from the Crimson Creatures. Backslaps and high fives were the order of the day.

With the game in doubt in the third period, Boone was on the glass in the student section rallying the fans and willing DU to victory.

DU is undefeated with Boone in Da House. Nuff Said.

Who's going to tell the little kids that the Chancellor won't make Boone the Official Mascot? :-)
