The DU students' mascot, named Boone, will attend his first DU hockey game in over a decade this weekend. Stop by and shake his hand, get your photo taken with him or buy him a soda.
Boone is the only collegiate mascot in the country that was designed entirely on the internet with input from fans, students and alumni. LetsGoDU helped raise over $8,000 from 20+ donors last Fall to cover design, production, travel and education for our mascot performer.
Boone was built in Toronto, Canada by Loonie Time Productions (photo left). He was completed in less than two months in order to be ready for the 2008 Frozen Four in Washington D.C.
Two separate surveys have shown that Boone has over an 80% approval rating on campus. It is our goal to get that number up to 99% by the end of the season.
DU student Scott Fuson is the first student to perform as the updated Boone. Scott attended Dave Raymond's Mascot Boot Camp in Kutztown, PA. last Fall to prepare for his role as Boone.

You guy's paid for that costume.. Obviously none of you were business majors.
This will be the make or break year for Boone's permanent acceptance. The pin head faculty are probably assuming that this "immature exuberance" will slowly fade. Boone's presence and support will have to be loud and consistent all year.
Anon:
The fact that you read hockey blogs at work shows that you are no businessman.
The fact you can come on this blog for free, shows that I failed as a businessman.
The fact that the Chancellor couldn't bring a mascot to fruition shows that he is a poor businessman.
I guess we all better go back and get our MBA's.

Show me another group of college alumni anywhere in America that had the guts to develop, fund and train their own mascot professionally without any help from the University.
What DG and friends has done is patently amazing and appreciated by many in the DU community.
Anyone has the right to take potshots, but until you produce a mascot of your own, you are behind the eight ball in my book...
12:00.....I don't follow what you're saying. I paid for your mom, and I'm not a business major. What's your point, homeboy?
How great will it be to actually have a mascot running around?! Looking forward to seeing Boone in action.
