Battling injuries and the H1N1 flu can partially explain why the preseason No. 1-ranked University of Denver is not where it wants to be.

Pioneers captain Rhett Rakhshani, however, is not about to confuse misfortunes with mistakes. The senior wing said his weakened squad isn't looking for excuses about why it is 2-2 heading into tonight's Western Collegiate Hockey Association opener at No. 11 Minnesota (read rest of article).

great excuses...the best teams work through teams like OSU when they have a few guys sick...

I thought Rhett was pretty clear. These aren't acceptable excuses. The key to winning is execution and eliminating errors

If the college hockey world thinks playing Denver will be all Cupcakes & Pony Rides soley because Dusty & Joey are out.... y'all are in for a little surprise. Conversley - let the Swine Flu run it's course here.... maybe that means in January & February other teams will be infected!! It will all be OK people!!!!
