Post's Mark Kiszla Profiles The Denver Pioneers

In a city that has witnessed Super Bowl parades, sipped from the Stanley Cup and never stops dreaming of championships, the team with the best chance of winning it all this year, and every year, is the Denver Pioneers.

When the Pioneers beat North Dakota 3-2 Saturday night in a hockey game that turned nervous stomachs every which way but loose, the unmistakable roar that went up from the crowd of 6,030 spectators in the arena was the noise of people who believe they might be seeing the start of something big. How awesome Kiz wrote this for a Sunday edition in the fall, when college football, Bronco game previews, Avs, and Nuggets all seem to come first. Way to go, Denver Post.
