Not taking anything away from DU. They have a great hockey program and a good coaching staff....but,

Is it true that the commish of the WCHA has his office on the campus of DU and that he has a DU email address. If so, does this not seem like a slight conflict of interest?

The referees are based out of Minneapolis. The Womens WCHA is based out of Madison. Bruce McLeod played hockey for UMD from 1966-69 was the AD of Minnesota-Duluth from 1983-96.

Would you prefer the WCHA league office be based in NYC in the NFL building?

Seriously what "conflict of interest" could possibly benefit DU by having the league office in Denver? The rent is probably free or very cheap.

You almost made my argument for me with that rent statement.

You also forgot to mention it's on the campus of DU. I have no problem that it is in Denver. On the campus of DU, with a DU email? Really? That is too much.

Demonstrate how there is a conflict of interest? Linesmen for UND live in Grand Forks. Is that too much? It's not in the middle of campus in a gleaming tower. In fact the address isn't where most people would think of as the campus proper.

And the associate commissioner is based in Madison. Wis.

And the league Tourney is based in St. Paul, Minn.

And the Commissioner is a UMD alum.

Come on now. McLeod's office is in a university of Denver building, but it is nowhere near the DU athletic Dept.

This just realy suprises me. I will have to do some research and see where other conference offices are located around the county.

Do some research, but don't compare the WCHA to the Big Ten, SEC or Pac-10 which rake in millions & millions of dollars.

The WCHA is a league that has one fringe sport and the only revenue comes from the league playoffs & Final 5. Out of that money the WCHA has to pay all the refs, their airfares & hotels. Plus they kick back $110,000 to each member school. McLeod, Sheppard & a guess a secretary have to be paid.

Face it, nobody gave a crap where the league office was located when DU sucked in the '80s & '90s. Now DU is in first place and there has to be some conspiracy.

DU is in first place because they have the best coaching staff and in the past ten to fifteen years the recruiting has gone through the roof.

I believe when I went to school in the 1970s that the league office was at Michigan Tech as the weekly stat reports came from there.

There is no way in hell that the league commish's office should be on a member school's campus....period, end of subject. By the way, remember that 2nd period a few weeks back where a certain team had 7 penalties in a row called against them? Guess who got a three week vacation from the WCHA?....Brian Thul. And straight from the league office...."No suspension"....Hmmmmm?

OK, you caught us. There's no point denying it any more.

20 years ago DU hatched a dastardly plan to move the WCHA offices to an on campus location. The thinking was, "We can get the referees to start calling more penalties on our opponents if we host the WCHA league office on campus."

But here's the kicker, DU needed to find a real patsy as a league commissioner from a neutral WCHA school. Someone who would be willing to trade league victories for a plush office suite on campus with a wet bar and a super hot secretary.

Then, to throw clever North Dakota fans off the scent, DU decided to base the WCHA Director of Officials in Minneapolis. It was all going so well, until this internet came along and empowered Hillbillies from North Dakota.

Now the whole conspiracy has been exposed. There is no way that the refs are going to be able to fix games for DU any longer.

Well it was good while it lasted. I congratulate you Sir for exposing our ruse.

Nice choice of words,............. hillbillies? The point is, the office should not be located on a member campus...plain and simple.

Have some credibility and post on your blog that Thul got a three week vacation after the ND series. If the outcome would of been different, I am sure you would have been all over it......admit it.

Now that you mention it, I could use a three week vacation. I'm thinking anywhere that doesn't have internet access.

Boo hoo............You like to throw plenty of jabs when you can. Are you getting soft with your old age? Nobody forces you to be a smart ass on your blog. You could always clean up your act and report credible information, instead of the regular trash.

Sad. These knuckledraggers from UND have nothing better to do than bitch about officials and conspiracy theories. 1:16.....you are quite a turd. Does your mom know where you are?
