Each week leading up to the NCAA Tournament Inside College Hockey.com predicts how they think the field will look in the playoffs. Currently they predict that DU will be the overall #1 seed and will play in the XCEL Energy Center in St, Paul, Minnesota.

St Cloud's bracket seems much better...
BS.
The St. Paul bracket will eventually have at least one Minnesota school in it.
444,
I think your right, SCSU will be in St. Paul. For the obvious money/attendance, reason.
Sadly for DU, their doesn't seem to be much of a following for them outside of Colorado.
So the NCAA will have no problem shipping DU out to the East somewhere.
I guess this means we will play UND or CC at least 5 times this year!
If DU is the #1 overall seed, I think they'll be in St Paul. If they are not, I agree that they'll be sent out east. Interesting the INCH's bracket and USCHO's are the same only USCHO sent the bracket out east. I,personally, think UND would outdraw all the MN teams combined at the Xcel, based on prior experience, but the NCAA will definitely put a MN team there. I'm just not sure it will be St Cloud unless they fall below a number 1 seed.
I think this thing is to fluid yet to determine where teams are going, I don't know if the NCAA's sends DU to the east, I would think they would keep them in the West or Midwest Regionals. I can just imagine the squacking if the Pioneers go east from the Hockey East folks.
Doesn't matter where St. Cloud goes.....they'll be one and done as usual.
It will be interesting to see if Holy Cross wins their conference tournament....if so Denver (if they stay #1) would automatically go to Worcester.
Holy Cross hosts the Worcester regional. Same would hold true if RPI wins the ECAC conference tourney, they host Albany. Both are a long shot, but lets be honest its the AHA and RPI can be sneaky.

Goon ... just like every year, there will not be much time spent by the committee over who will do squawking, or who is theoretically getting "screwed" ... They will following their process step by step, as always.
They would look to get the 1-16 matchup ... so if it makes sense to do that in the East, they'll do it in the East. If it makes sense to do it in St. Paul, it will happen in St. Paul.
Not sure what Hockey East people have to do with it .... since there's no guarantee their teams will be in the East anyway. It's all about the 1-16-8-9, 2-15-7-10, etc....
Adam, maybe so but it was fun to hear all the unhappy easterners the year the WCHA had the all WCHA Frozen Four. I am just wondering if we will see three WCHA teams in the same regional again?
