DU Expects Michigan Tech To Be Playoff Ready

From: Denver Post
by Mike Chambers

Three weeks ago, Michigan Tech entered Magness Arena with five victories. The Huskies left Denver with five victories. They still have only five victories.

Among 58 Division I teams, they are tied with American International and Bowling Green for the fewest wins.

So how does the top-ranked University of Denver, which has won 25 games, get up for its first-round Western Collegiate Hockey Association series against the visiting Huskies? (read rest of article)

This will not be a pushover series.

..... and I hope "Teeney" reminds his teammates of that. The Seniors better re-visit that "We're not going to be denied" mentality that worked so well for them a couple weeks ago.

Its never easy.

I like to see balanced scoring like Saturday night in the Springs. This is the fun time of the year.

Regular season stats mean nothing. Big pressure, big rewards.

DU better bring it. Their the best last place team I have seen in awhile

I wish we could skip the WCHA playoffs. Considering the injuries we've gotten from these playoff series over the last couple of years... I don't want to see anything like that going in to the tournament.

Didn't that happen the year of the #6 Championship? They missed the Final 5 ~ and they were thanking God for that because they were all torn up. Anyway, yeah it's a whole new season now. This might as well be October 9th all over again. Hope we have nice refs who's whistles don't work

Enjoy your last home series with rahkshani, rugsegger, wiercoch, colborne and cheverie. Your team is going to be gutted after this season.

I think the CC series was a great preparation for the playoff run. The team played Saturday night like it was the WCHA finals...they wanted it that bad. They've got to keep that same intensity.

Team going to be gutted? I think Jason, David, Nicky, Bo, Danny and Jarrod might tend to disagree......

Hahaha. Sorry, DU will just re-load with even better players (the benefit of winning 2 national championships and having a coach that sends players to the pros) and Shore, Donovan, etc. will be that much better. Dynasty baby, dynasty.

There's no replacing Rakhshani's flair & Ruegsegger's heart, but there's plenty to look forward to next year.

DU will have ten Seniors next season. Some of these guys will be 24 years old. The team will coach itself.

Gutted might be a little extreme, but the loss of our All-World goalie certainly won't help. Lets be honest. He's our team. Without him, we lose to Air Force, the Minnesota games are a lot closer, we probably drop 1 or 2 to ND, probably get a loss against Minnesota State, and probably drop one against Anchorage.

I hope he stays another year because we'll have a pretty young team that could use the leadership and confidence between the pipes.

Finally, a du fan who makes sense.

Next year? Isn't that what you talk about when your team is done this year? Let's have some fun NOW! DU has quite a few games to get through before we have to talk about next year.

This weekend should be a great series! I'll miss the fat man in the white suit though.

"If this", "if that", "if we lost to so-and-so"...
last time I checked Chevy doesn't score the goals, doesn't dig in the corners, doesn't take faceoffs, doesn't hold the puck in on the point on the PP

He may be our MVP but there's 18 skaters out there working their butts off with responsibilities that Chevy obviously has nothing to do with.

All I see and care about is:
25-7-4, #1 PWR, #1 RPI
MacNaughton cup champs

THAT'S JUST HOW IT IS

frickin' ridiculous....

Next year is next year. DU has a pretty consistent force in the upper half of the WCHA and a fixture in the top 15 national programs since 2004. The program will be fine.
