Miami's loss to Ohio State has huge Pairwise ramifications, because Ohio State was a common opponent.

At least famous Dave was able to light the lamp in error once again with 5 left in the first period!! Way to go!! Paul Stasney does some good LASIK eye commercials, you might want to consider the possibilities!!

Oops, maybe it was the other officiating judge that lit the lamp premature. Either way, kind of a homer move if you're not sure the goal went in.

True--Famous Dave was not in the house tonight.

I give MTU a hell of a lot of credit they played us real tough the last four games--hold our strong PP to 0-12 in the last three. Good luck Pios--six more W's and we're home!

I'm hoping it's St Paul the next two weekends and then on to Motown!
It was a hell of a season.

Good luck to the Pios, I hope to see them in my home town of Detroit.

How much you wanna' bet that was the last time Marc Cheverie ever gets introduced again inside Magness arena?

I think he'll be back ay DU nest year. Florida has a lot of goalies ahead of Chevy on their depth chart.

Boy, who pissed off Joe Colborne? Exams not go too good? Was it the whole Daylight Savings pain in the ass thing? He was not one of the happier fellows out there tonight.

It was #13 from Tech after he mauled Rhett as he tried to take the puck into the o-zone. Big Joe looked like he was going to go through the scorers table and get that little punk. :-) It's like PS said the boys woke up from that point on. I knew that was a good thing--because up to that point the Pios weren't showing they even cared. Six games to go people!

I think 57 will back next year and he'll be just as amazing. Chevy for the Hobey!

LOL....

I am the one who was in "Famous" Dave's spot tonight.

I can assure you there was no "homerism" -- honest mistakes do happen. The play was reviewed because it really was close. I KNOW I FUCKED UP. OK? Believe me when I say that I respect the integrity of the game foremost.

Was it reverse "homerism" when one of the refs blew a play dead when "Robo" obviously did not have the puck on that 3rd period play? Again, mistakes happen -- LIVE WITH IT.

Confirmed: Adam Murray will start every game next season...GO CHEVY!!!

I can taste Detroit coming..."Fuck the Red Wings!...Fuck the Red Wings!"

I'd like to see the tape of that no goal in the first. We sit even with the goal line in section 14 and everyone thought it looked like a goal. The second period pio's are the team we need to see if they are going to do anything in the NCAA's.

Does anyone know the status of Wrenn? Is he still injured? I havne't seen him play much recently.

Wrenn was injured earlier. Then he played a few games but hasn't played in the last few.

Brookwell has been playing the best he ever has at DU, Phillips has become a very good player and you just can't take Ryder's physical play out of the game.

If Wrenn is not 100% then there is no real need for him to dress.

I wouldn't be surprised to see DU go with the 7-11 split at the F5, with either Wrenn or Nutini dressing as the 7th d-man -- depending on their respective injury situations.

Regarding Wrenn, he has some sort of a "lower body injury." At some point someone might have said it was a "hip." I'm not 100% sure, but I think that was it.

Anyway, Jesse Martin had hip surgery in Vail in the offseason and has had a great season this year.

Wrenn might be able to play and not do any future damage and DU is just saving him until the critical games or perhaps with 7 other solid D-men DU is just rolling the six best guys out there.

I'd like to see a video of Colborne's goal in the 2nd after Rocky intercepted a pass from the Robinson and Colborne backhands it top shelf from far out... That was the play that turned the table for good.

Not a very good outing by the Pios this week. We can't be playing down to the opponents level and expect to get far. We need DU Pioneer hockey not Tech. At least they squeezed out both wins and made it out without injury. That was my biggest concern.

Tons of upsets last night and teams still playing today. That might play to our advantage later for the Final 5.

I knew about Renner.... but if Gwozdecky doesn't let Salazar out of the Doghouse soon.... I'm calling PETA on his ass!

Joe's short handed goal was SICK! But of course we can't forget that Rhett made that play.

Just had to hassle you a little about lighting the lamp. You're right, I know a goal judge for the Spartans, it's not an easy job back there behind the goal. You don't always have the best angle with bodies flying around the net. Good job on the game though.

Wrenn has been the weakest of the frosh dmen. He's just hasn't been that good, injured or not.

Twister said...

It wasn't DU's best performance, but the Pios did enough this weekend to beat a scrappy Tech team. The Pios will need to be better if they want a shot at the Broadmoor next weekend. No more slow starts!

Re: Wrenn

To me, Wrenn has been the slowest to adapt to the speed and tempo of the college game. Additionally, in the games I've seen him in, he has looked a bit tentative and passive, for a guy who supposedly is a physical stay-at-home d-man.

Missing games due to injury doesn't help. He just needs more time to develop. He should be fine.
